Simultaneous Reconstructions of Absorption Density and Wave Speed with Photoacoustic Measurements
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper we propose an approach for simultaneous identification of the absorption density and the speed of sound using photoacoustic measurements. Experimentally our approach can be realized with sliced photoacoustic experiments. The mathematical model for such an experiment is developed and exact reconstruction formulas for both parameters are presented.

Modeling Photoacoustic Tomography using k-Wave
Photoacoustic tomography (PAT) is a hybrid imaging technique that offers similar medical potential as ultrasound and optical imaging. Although efforts to innovate Photoacoustic scanners have been scarce, newer developments such as k-Wave will enable their optimal imaging capability. Despite k-Wave’s ability to simulate PAT, few researchers utilize this technology. Thus, this project explored th...

Fossil Fuels are always considered as environmental pollutants. On the other hand, the political and economic situations highly affect the price of these fuels. Offshore wind and wave, as renewable energy sources, represent the better alternatives for electricity generation. Therefore, it is necessary that wind speeds effectively be estimated due to the absence of field measurements of the wind...
متن کاملLight Source Effects on Aerosol Photoacoustic Spectroscopy Measurements.
Photoacoustic spectroscopy measurements of flame-generated soot aerosol coated with small amounts of water yielded absorption enhancements that were dependent on the laser used: quasi-continuous wave (Q-CW, ≈ 650 ps pulse duration and 78 MHz repetition rate) versus continuous wave (CW). Water coating thickness was controlled by exposing the aerosol to a set relative humidity (RH). At ≈ 85 % RH,...
متن کاملQuantitative photoacoustic integrating sphere (QPAIS) platform for absorption coefficient and Grüneisen parameter measurements: Demonstration with human blood
Quantitative photoacoustic imaging in biomedicine relies on accurate measurements of relevant material properties of target absorbers. Here, we present a method for simultaneous measurements of the absorption coefficient and Grüneisen parameter of small volume of liquid scattering and absorbing media using a coupled-integrating sphere system which we refer to as quantitative photoacoustic integ...
متن کاملQuantitative photoacoustic imaging of two-photon absorption.
Photoacoustic tomography (PAT) is a hybrid imaging modality where we intend to reconstruct optical properties of heterogeneous media from measured ultrasound signals generated by the photoacoustic effect. In recent years, there have been considerable interests in using PAT to image two-photon absorption, in addition to the usual single-photon absorption, inside diffusive media. We present a mat...
